GEG Invites Various Local Organizations to Participate in Sea Cruises to Promote the Cultural History of Macau’s Sea-Land Landscape
- 1. GEG recently organized various Sea Cruises for members from local organizations, in hopes of deepening their understanding of the cultural history of Macau’s sea-land landscape and related tourism resources.
- 2. The participants took part in an engaging maritime experience that showcased a captivating and panoramic view of Macau’s iconic architectures and GEG’s flagship properties. In addition, to deepen participants’ knowledge of Macau’s Coloane and Taipa development, maritime history, coastal feature and fishing port culture, GEG also arranged professional docents to the Sea Cruises.
- 3. To promote the profound connections between Macau’s fishing and shipbuilding industries, GEG extended the Sea Cruise experience to the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards.
- 4. The participants visited the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards – a revitalization project jointly launched by the Macau SAR Government and GEG, to visit the fishing boat models and themed exhibitions to gain insight into the history and artistry of Macau’s shipbuilding industry and broaden their horizons and knowledge of Macau’s cultural heritage.
- 5. GEG specially invited Mr. Ho Kim Pui to perform “Saltwater Songs” onsite, a dialectal folksong listed as one of Macau’s intangible heritages, to recreate and reminisce the daily life of local fishermen in the past.
