August 31, 2021 – Committed to fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) spreads love and care to the community through organizing different activities. This year, GEG collaborated with the Macao Blood Transfusion Services of the Health Bureau of the Macau SAR Government on hosting its 13th annual blood donation event, which attracted nearly 70 team members to put their love into action and give back to the community by donating blood.

Recently, GEG set up a blood donation drive at Galaxy Macau™. To create a relaxed and comfortable environment for the participants, GEG decorated the venue and provided refreshments to help donors replenish themselves after the blood donation. Since pandemic prevention and control has become part of society’s new-normal, GEG continued to observe the authorities’ pandemic prevention guidelines by requiring all participants to take their temperature and show their Macau Health Code status at the entrance. Besides, GEG also provided hand sanitizers for people at the venue, and presented donors with one of four specially designed hand sanitizers made by members of Fuhong Society of Macau (“Fuhong”). GEG has been purchasing its blood donation event souvenirs from Fuhong for 11 consecutive years as a way of showing support to its members as well as the local cultural and creative industry. Dr. Jorge Neto Valente, Advisor of GEG; Mr. Raymond Yap, Senior Director of Integrated Resort Services of GEG; Mr. Roger Lienhard, Executive Vice President of Hospitality of Galaxy Macau; and other senior executives attended the event to show support and appreciation to the team members for their selfless contribution to the community.

Ms. Roxanne Chan from the Financial Planning and Analysis Department has volunteered at GEG’s Blood Donation Day for several years, and this year was her first year to join as a blood donor. She said, “I didn’t meet the weight requirement previously and so, this was my first time donating blood. The staff and volunteers were very nice and helpful, and the company was thoughtful by providing refreshments for all participants. I was delighted to take part in this meaningful, energetic and warm activity.”

GEG upholds its pledge of “Making a Difference by Making a Commitment” by continuing to give back to the community through different initiatives. Since 2008, GEG has been organizing blood donation events each year to promote community giving through the gift of life, which to date, has attracted more than 1,700 blood donations by GEG team members. Such efforts have received different recognitions from the Macau SAR Government, including Team Recognition for Top Number of Blood Donors – champion, the Organization with Most Rh-Negative Blood Donation Award, Team Recognition for Blood Donation Motivation and Outstanding Blood Donation Motivation, among others. GEG will continue to make the most of its resources, and mobilize its team members to join its efforts to contribute to the community.
