August 25, 2025 – Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) actively promotes understanding of national history and development among its team members and local youth through diverse measures. With the support of the Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Macau SAR Government is hosting the “For National Liberation and World Peace – Thematic Exhibition Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War” (“the exhibition”), from today to September 24 at the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Commercial and Trade Service Platform Complex. As part of the GEG National Education Series, GEG organized a visit for 50 team members and interns from the Galaxy Integrated Resort Internship Program on the exhibition’s opening day, with aims of deepening their understanding of wartime history and instilling the values of patriotism and love for Macau.
Led by Mr. Buddy Lam, Director of Corporate Affairs of GEG, the group visited the exhibition today afternoon. Guided by a docent, the participants explored a wealth of historic materials and used audio guides that provided deeper insights into the stories behind the exhibits. Key highlights included the 14-year struggle of the anti-fascist war, which ultimately led to victory, as well as the heroic contributions of martyrs throughout the war. Through the visit, participants embraced the spirit of “Remembering History, Honouring Martyrs, Cherishing Peace, and Forging the Future”, and gained a greater appreciation for the collective efforts of various sectors in Macau that contributed to the war, fostering a profound sense and bond of patriotic unity shared across the nation.
A student from the Galaxy Integrated Resort Internship Program said, “The exhibition provided us with a more concrete understanding of the war’s details. It deepened our knowledge of the nation’s past, reminded us to cherish the hard-won peace, and highlighted the unity and resilience of our forefathers. As a younger generation, we are proud to be part of the nation and recognize the importance of cultural inheritance and the value of peace.”
To commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, GEG recently organized and supported a series of commemorative activities that engaged nearly 800 participants. Following the release of the patriotic film “Dead to Rights”, multiple screenings were held at Galaxy Cinemas in Galaxy Macau™ integrated resort, attended by local youth, members of various community associations, and GEG team members. Ms. Liu Changmei, the film’s Macau distributor, participated in several events, including a special youth screening hosted by GEG, where she shared insights with over 100 young attendees on the historical significance of the film. Additionally, GEG supported organizations in hosting a range of commemorative activities at its properties, including themed history lecture, documentary screening, and photo exhibition. Furthermore, as the title sponsor of the “GEG Macau Cup – Youth National Education Competition” for 17 consecutive years, GEG also arranged for this year’s award-winning students to visit Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, where they laid wreaths and paid tribute to martyrs at the Aviation Martyrs Cemetery. Through these initiatives, GEG aims to further promote national education, strengthen the sense of belonging and pride among local youth, team members, and the community, and foster enduring values of patriotism and love for Macau.
