November 26, 2013 - Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) has always been passionate about spreading care and happiness around the community through different festive events and activities. This winter, visiting guests to its flagship property Galaxy Macau™ will not only be greeted by a spectacular, 13-meter tall Christmas tree at the East Square, but they will also have a chance to render support to five local charity associations through supporting the “Wishes Granted” Charity Tree Campaign. With the representatives of the five beneficiaries being the officiating guests, the “Christmas Lighting-Up and ‘Wishes Granted’ Charity Tree Launch Ceremony” was held on Tuesday evening to unveil the one-month campaign.
The launch ceremony was officiated by Mr. Manuel Pires, Deputy Director of Macau Government Tourist Office, Mr. Sio Yu Hong, Executive Director of Macau Special Olympics, Mr. Jones Sou, Director of Richmond Fellowship of Macau, Mr. Augusto Nogueira, President of Association of Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers of Macau, Sr. Juliana Devoy, Director of Good Shepherd Centre, Ms. Bondy Li, Acting Executive Supervisor of Against Child Abuse (Macau) Association Child Protection Centre, as well as several GEG’s senior executives. The festive atmosphere was amplified with the melodious Christmas chorus performance by the student choir from the International School of Macau, as well as the elaborate and colorful parade presented by the lovely Santarina dancers and Santa Claus.
Starting today through December 26, visiting guests can join the Christmas Tree Campaign by donating MOP20 to deliver a “charity wishing ball” onto the tree through a mechanical device. All proceeds will go to five local charity associations. GEG hopes that the campaign will not only bring festive joy to the visitors of Galaxy Macau, but it will also provide a great opportunity for everyone to render support to charity, and to spread warmth and cheer to the less fortunate people in the community.
During the campaign period, the East Square of Galaxy Macau is transformed into a magical Christmas fair with fabulous decorations and crowd-pleasing parades. Guests and visitors will also be greeted by six-meter tall golden reindeer and Santa statues throughout the resort property, which provides perfect setting for a heartwarming family photo to last a lifetime.
Visiting Galaxy Macau for the first time with his family, Mr. Lai from Hong Kong said, “I have truly enjoyed this early Christmas celebration with my family. Galaxy Macau is full of surprises and is certainly a great place to relax and enjoy some quality family time. I will surely come back with my family again for another wonderful holiday experience.”
