September 27, 2017 – Upholding the philosophy of “what is taken from the community is to be used for the good of the community,” Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) cares about cultural and sports development of Macau. On Monday, a delegation of 25 members of the Chinese National Diving Team arrived in Macau for the three-day “Olympic Gold Medalists Macau’s Series Activities”. GEG sponsored their stay at Galaxy Hotel™ again this year and arranged a tea gathering for the athletes and 10 members of the Macau Deaf Association (“MDA”) at The Ritz-Carlton, Macau. The group had a great time together sharing gourmet delicacies and learning sign language.
On the afternoon of September 25, the delegation, which included Coach Zhou Jihong and gold medal winners Ren Xi, Shi Tingmao, Chen Aisen and Cao Yuan, arrived in Macau and were welcomed by Mr. Kevin Kelley, Chief Operating Officer, Macau of GEG and Mr. Buddy Lam, Assistant Senior Vice President of Public Relations of GEG. Bouquets of flowers were presented to each member of the delegation. There were residents and tourists who had gathered to catch a glimpse of the gold medalists. The next day, GEG arranged a tea gathering for the MDA members and the diving team on the 51st floor of The Ritz-Carlton, Macau. The gold medalists also learnt some basic sign language from the MDA members with the assistance of a sign language interpreter. Some MDA members said that they enjoyed watching diving and were very excited for the opportunity to meet the world-class athletes.
GEG attaches great importance to promoting Macau’s cultural and sports development. During the visit, the delegation attended exchange activities with citizens, students and various social welfare organizations. They also showed off their skills at the Aquatic Centre of the Olympic Sports Centre to promote the fun of sports to the public.
