Chinese Gold Medalists Celebrate Christmas at Galaxy with Santa Ron and Caritas Students
- 1. On the afternoon of December 11, the three Chinese gold medalists including Wu Minxia, Han Xiaopeng and Li Nina arrived at Santa’s Grotto in Galaxy Macau’s East Square, where students from Escola Caritas de Macau welcomed them with bouquets of flowers.

December 12, 2017 – Christmas is coming, and Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) is holding an array of activities and spreading seasonal blessings to the underprivileged and schools. Recently, a delegation of China’s Olympic medalists visited Macau. GEG once again sponsored their accommodation at Galaxy MacauTM, this time at Asia’s largest JW Marriott. GEG also arranged for 20 students from Escola Caritas de Macau to celebrate Christmas with the medalists at Santa’s Grotto in Galaxy Macau’s East Square.
The participating gold medalists included Wu Minxia, the “Diving Queen” with 14 two-person diving world championships; Han Xiaopeng, China’s first FIS Freestyle World Ski Champion and Olympic ski champion; and Li Nina, the “Snow Princess” and three-time FIS Freestyle World Ski Champion. On the afternoon of December 11, the three gold medalists arrived at Santa’s Grotto, where students from Escola Caritas de Macau welcomed them with bouquets of flowers. Also present were residents and tourists who had gathered to take photos and catch a glimpse of the gold medalists.
During Christmas, GEG invites the famous Santa Ron to deliver festive blessings to guests at Galaxy Macau each year. Santa Ron has been very active in the film and television industry in the past 50 years and has starred in Hollywood movies, TV shows, giant brand advertisements and holiday parades. This time, GEG invited Santa Ron to celebrate Christmas at Santa’s Grotto at Galaxy Macau, where he entertained the students from Escola Caritas de Macau and the gold medalists with his Christmas stories. The group also sang a number a classic Christmas songs and took photos with Santa in the grotto. GEG sent gift packs home with the students. The packs included items purchased from the Fu Hong Society to support the development of the local charitable organization.
“I’m delighted to visit Macau during Christmas and have the chance to admire the beautiful festive decorations at Galaxy Macau. Besides joining the Walk for a Million, we also see many happy faces of the students in today’s activity, it definitely makes our trip a meaningful one,” gold medalist Wu Minxia said.
GEG has established close relationship with Caritas de Macau, supporting and co-organizing various activities, including the Caritas Macau Charity Bazaar, the Oversized Oil Painting Workshop and the Me and My Galaxy Inclusive Arts Workshop.
