December 28, 2017 – Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) promotes the value of love and respect for animals and encourages team members to participate in relevant volunteering activities organized by GEG. Previously, GEG Volunteer Team and GEG management members visited the Dog Shelter of Anima Macau at Coloane and spent a lovely afternoon with the dogs there. In addition, GEG donated MOP300,000 to Anima Macau, in supporting its daily operation and animal rescue work.
During the visit, Anima Macau staff introduced its operation to GEG Volunteer Team. The dog shelter currently provides support and care to over 300 dogs, posing considerable challenges on its operation and manpower arrangement. After the introduction, GEG volunteers played with the dogs and took them for a walk. Through the visit, the group learnt about the ideas of animal protection, such as considering adopting a pet instead of buying one, and responsible pet care is a lifetime commitment, which the owners need to foster their pets with time, patience and love. Mr. Eric Tong, Assistant Vice President of Facilities of Galaxy Macau™ also joined the visit, he said that he didn’t keep a pet but he loved dogs, therefore he was glad to contribute his part by joining the visit arranged by GEG. Meanwhile, he would also encourage his colleagues to take part in this kind of volunteering, delivering messages of caring about animals to the community. Lastly, Mr. Philip Cheng, Director of GEG, presented a MOP300,000 cheque to Mr. Albano Martins, President of Anima Macau. The donation will be used to support Anima Macau’s animal rescue work.
Anima Macau is a non-profit association founded in 2003 and is dedicated to the protection of animal welfare. Since 2012, GEG has been supporting the association with annual donation and visit, and hopes to promote public awareness on animal protection, as well as help build a society where humans and animals can live in harmony.
