December19, 2018 – Upholding the philosophy of “What is taken from the community is to be used for the good of the community,” Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) seeks to spread love and care to different groups in the community through a diverse range of activities. As Christmas approaches, GEG is hosting a series of holiday activities that includes sponsoring members of social welfare organizations for a movie screening, organizing the GEG Volunteer Team to visit the elderly to bring them gifts and help them with house cleaning, and sending a representative to attend the gift delivery activity hosted by União Geral das Associações dos Moradores de Macau (“UGAMM”) to distribute red packets to 30 residents over 90 years old.
The GEG Volunteer Team has conducted holiday home visits to Peng On Tung Tele-assistance Service users over the past eight years. This year, the volunteers visited several users, not only to help with house cleaning, but also to distribute Christmas gift bags with cleaning products, healthy food items and blankets. The blankets are made of yarn from disinfected recycled clothing collected by The Salvation Army (Macau) through its recycling program. GEG supports UGAMM Peng On Tung Services all the ways. In addition to the traditional Peng On Tung Tele-assistance Service, UGAMM launched the Peng On Tung Outdoor-assistance Service a few weeks ago. GEG, the first integrated resort operator to support this new service, is committed to sponsor 300 service users for three years. In addition, GEG has also supported Peng On Tung Center’s Care in the Community Activity for the third consecutive year since 2016, to establish a better community care network.
Furthermore, GEG invited almost 70 members of the Macau Deaf Association and the Richmond Fellowship of Macau to UA Galaxy Cinemas to watch the new animated film “Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us”. Mr. Cheang, staff of the Richmond Fellowship of Macau said, “Thanks to GEG for this invitation and arrangement. Our members were very excited to watch this popular movie, and the decorations at Galaxy Macau™ have made us feel a strong Christmas spirit.” Mr. Buddy Lam, Senior Vice President of Public Relations of GEG, said, “As a patriotic Chinese-owned company, GEG attaches great importance to community harmony and has participated in a diverse range of community services. As Christmas approaches, we wish to bring care and love to needy people through a series of activities. GEG will continue to participate in diversified activities in cooperation with social welfare organizations.”
GEG regularly interacts and cooperates with Macau social welfare organizations. The company recently hosted a family cooking class for Macau Autism Association members during the lead up to a charity dinner at Galaxy Macau based on the Manchu Han Imperial Feast. Macau Deaf Association members were invited to conduct a sign language outreach at GEG’s Local Culture & Food Festival, where a cooking workshop for members of the Fuhong Society of Macau was also arranged. Going forward, GEG will continue to care about the needs of the Macau community and push for more support for vulnerable groups and people in need.
