February 08, 2019 – Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) held traditional cultural ceremonies at its signature properties – Galaxy Macau™, Broadway Macau™ and StarWorld Hotel – on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year in celebration of the Year of the Pig, sharing festive joy with team members and guests. To enrich the holiday atmosphere, GEG also organized a series of themed activities for team members in January and February.
The ceremonies were officiated by Mr. Raymond Yap, Senior Director of International Premium and Mass Market Development; Mr. Richard Longhurst, Director of Operations of Galaxy Macau; Mr. James Houghton, Director of Information Systems & Technology; and a number of other senior executives set off fire crackers and painted dots on the eyes of the ceremonial lions to bring them to life and commence the auspicious lion dances. A pack of colorful lions bounded through the properties amid uplifting drumbeats as guests looked on with delight and snapped photos.
To bring team members together in the spirit of the holiday, GEG organized several interesting staff activities: a Chinese New Year pudding distribution activity, the Golden Piggy Bank CNY Interactive Game and the CNY Online Game. Additionally, GEG’s staff canteens offered multiple delicious Chinese New Year courses during the holiday period.
GEG also launched recycling programs for used clothing and red packets to promote the important message of recycling and environmental protection. All the clothes gathered will be transferred to people or families in need through the Salvation Army, while the red packets collected will be sent to the Environmental Protection Bureau in support of the Bureau’s recycling scheme.
