July 17, 2020 – A delegation led by Mr. Yao Jian, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau Special Administrative Region (“Liaison Office”) recently visited Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) to present a certificate of appreciation for the company’s donation amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The delegates were warmly greeted by Mr. Philip Cheng, Director of GEG and other management executives. During the meeting, the two parties discussed the pragmatic leadership of the Central and the Macau Special Administrative Region (“SAR”) governments in preventing and controlling the spread of the pandemic, as well as the related measures that GEG had implemented to support the governments’ measures.
During the pandemic, GEG was fortunate to have the two-time coordination of the Liaison Office so that GEG’s donation could reach the different locations and institutions involved in Mainland China’s pandemic prevention and control work, including those involved in the construction of additional medical facilities, public health promotion, pandemic research, and others. Expressing their gratitude, the Liaison Office presented GEG with a certificate of appreciation as well as their wishes for GEG to continue cooperating with the Macau SAR Government on Macau’s pandemic prevention and economic recovery.
Mr. Yao Jian, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office said, “We wish to thank GEG for its diversified support to the Mainland and Macau community during the pandemic. GEG has actively fulfilled its corporate social responsibilities and has demonstrated the spirit of unity and solidity through its practical measures. The Liaison Office will continue to support the fight against this pandemic, coordinate donations, and work with the community for an early defeat of the pandemic.”
Mr. Philip Cheng, Director of GEG said, “GEG is grateful to have the ongoing support of the Liaison Office. As a Chinese enterprise that is rooted in Macau, GEG hopes to contribute to the country and Macau’s pandemic prevention effort, as well as support those in need. We have seen what Macau can do when the city unites and fights the pandemic together, and at GEG, we are thankful for our team members’ full support for our business operations, anti-pandemic measures, and community efforts. Looking forward, we will continue to firmly cooperate with, and support the Macau SAR Government on pandemic prevention and the economic recovery of Macau.”
