GEG to Unveil ‘GalaxyArt’ Gallery in July for Art Macao
June 8, 2021 – As a Macau-rooted corporation, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) actively supports sports, culture and the arts in order to advance Macau’s positioning as a World Center of Tourism and Leisure and help build a better Macau with different sectors of the community.
To support the SAR Government in promoting the sustainable development of culture and the arts in Macau, Galaxy Entertainment Group Foundation (“the Foundation”) will hold a grand unveiling of GalaxyArt on July 20, 2021 at Galaxy Macau™. Exhibitions hosted in the non-profit art space will be curated for both residents and visitors alike, with a particular focus on young people to expose them to, and broaden their horizon in the arts. The highlight of these exhibitions will be the GEG presentations at “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale”.
Upholding its philosophy of “what is taken from the community is to be used for the good of the community,” GEG established the Foundation in 2015 to support the growth and development of the community through initiating multi-year projects in the areas of arts, culture, education, health and social welfare, etc. In 2019, the Foundation presented GRACE KELLY: From Hollywood to Monaco – Artists' Tributes as part of its GEG Arts & Culture Initiative. This large-scale exhibition was held at Galaxy Macau and was a highlight of Art Macao 2019, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response.
In support of the launch of Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2021, GalaxyArt will present its inaugural exhibition from July 20 to October 31. Exhibitions and arts & cultural events will continue to be hosted throughout the year at GalaxyArt to engage people from all walks of life, especially the young generation. As pandemic prevention and control have become part of society’s new normal, the Foundation will closely monitor the pandemic situation and cooperate with health authorities to make timely and appropriate arrangements for its gallery operations.
