Dr. Che-woo Lui, via the Lui Che Woo Foundation Limited (“Lui Che Woo Foundation”) and Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”), donated MOP5,000,000 to the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR (“Liaison Office”) today, to assist the victims of the Qinghai earthquake.

Representing Lui Che Woo Foundation and GEG, Mr. Francis Lui, Vice Chairman of GEG presented a MOP5,000,000 cheque to Mr. Xu Shuang, Director-General of Coordination Department of and Mr. Xu Chao Sheng, Deputy Director-General of Coordination Department of the Liaison Office. Mr. Lui said, “This 7.1Ms Qinghai Earthquake has caused massive casualties and damage to community. As Chinese, it is extremely heartbreaking to watch the news, to see thousands of fellow comrades lose their families, friends and homes. On the National Day of Mourning, all StarWorld staff members had observed three minutes’ silence and at the same time halted all public entertainment to express condolence over the victims of the Qinghai Earthquake.”

“On behalf of all of us at Lui Che Woo Foundation and GEG, I extend our deepest condolence to all those affected. In addition, we would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to all the brave and selfless individuals who are contributing to the rescue efforts in mist of the aftermath. We here wish to make a contribution, to assist the victims in overcoming their current difficulties. We also hope that the people in Qinghai can pull together and start rebuilding their lives and homes”, added Mr. Lui.
