Galaxy Entertainment Group Announces Staff Movement
October 25, 2010
Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) announces on Monday, October 25, the resignations of Mr. Steve Wolstenholme, Chief Operating Officer of Galaxy Macau™, and Mr. Jeffrey King, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Galaxy Macau™.
Mr. Wolstenholme has been active in supporting GEG in spearheading its project committee in planning operations, opening and recruitment at Galaxy Macau™, which are necessary to enable the team at Galaxy Macau™ to operate according to the “World Class, Asian Heart” philosophy. The company has been able to establish a strong and substantial operations team in preparation for the opening of Galaxy Macau™ in early 2011 as one of the world’s largest and truly integrated resorts.
Mr. Wolstenholme, who joined GEG in August 2008, resigned for personal reasons and will remain with GEG until November to ensure a smooth transition, during which Mr. Michael Mecca, President and Chief Operating Officer of GEG, will fulfill dual roles as both President and Chief Operating Officer of GEG and as well as Chief Operating Officer of Galaxy Macau™ in the interim. Since joining GEG in March 2009, Mr. Mecca has been primarily involved in the development, marketing and operations of Galaxy Macau™.
Mr. Jeff King will also stay with GEG until a handover has been completed. While GEG conducts its search for a new Senior Vice President of Marketing at Galaxy Macau™ to further implement the marketing strategies for Galaxy Macau™, Mr. Raymond Yap, Senior Vice President of GEG’s International Premium Market Development will take up this role. Mr. Yap has been a member of the GEG family since January 2007 and has been a key strategic contributor to both StarWorld Hotel & Casino and the planning of the Galaxy Macau™ project.
Backed by GEG’s enormous team of experienced executives with their ongoing stellar performances, GEG is confident that these management changes will have no impact on its performance or on Galaxy Macau™, which will open in early 2011.
The management of GEG would like to express its sincere thanks and appreciation to both Mr. Wolstenholme and Mr. King, and wish them every success in their future endeavors.
