February 13, 2012 – In appreciation of the support from the media, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) held the “Splendorous 2012 – GEG Media Spring Dinner” on 13th February 2012 at the function room of Galaxy Hotel™, inviting more than 100 representatives from local Chinese, English and Portuguese electronic and printed media, as well as the Macau branches of Mainland and Hong Kong media.
Attending the event were also the management team including Mr. Francis Lui, Vice Chairman of GEG, Mr. Michael Mecca, President & Chief Operating Officer of GEG and Ms. Eileen Lui, Director of Human Resources & Administration of GEG. In his opening remarks, Mr. Francis Lui hoped that the company would continue to embrace a friendly relationship with the media; he said, “2011 was absolutely a fabulous year to us with the grand opening of Galaxy Macau and UA Galaxy Cinemas, as well as the fifth anniversary of StarWorld Macau. Without our media friends, our hard work and achievement will never be known by others. Committed to its corporate social responsibility, GEG will continue to give back to society in the years ahead.”
Before the dinner began, the guests were entertained by a photo exhibition at the foyer of the function room, illustrating the development of GEG since the gaming concession was granted in 2002, and its participation in community work over the years. Newspaper clippings were also included in the exhibition to review the growth of GEG together with the guests. A video clip was played during the banquet to share with everyone the most exciting and memorable moments of GEG in 2011.
To add to the excitement of the event, Ms. Anna Chau, the first female mask-changing artist in Hong Kong, was invited to deliver an elaborate performance amid the event. The audiences were thoroughly delighted as the performer came down to interact with them. Lastly, the blissful event was concluded with several classic songs delivered by the famous Hong Kong singer Ms. Elisa Chan.
