Galaxy Macau Hosts Charity Screening to Celebrate First Anniversary All Proceeds Will Go to ORBIS Macau
May 17, 2012 – In celebration of its first anniversary on 15th May, Galaxy Macau™ is organizing the “Golden Night at the Opera - Charity Screening in 3D” on the coming Saturday, inviting a number of socialites and representatives from local associations. As part of Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”)’s social activities to promote art and culture, the charity screening will introduce the famous Western opera “Carmen in 3D” to local community and, at the same time, raise fund for ORBIS Macau’s sight-saving mission.
Held at the Grand Theatre of UA Galaxy Cinemas in the afternoon of 19th May, the “Golden Night at the Opera - Charity Screening in 3D” will be attended by invited guests from local associations, as well as the GEG executives in support of charity. The guests will be entertained by the highly acclaimed “Carmen in 3D”, which tells an intense love story set in Spain during the early 19th century between the passionate Gypsy girl Carmen and a Spanish corporal. First ever filmed in 3D, “Carmen in 3D” has created unique theatre experiences for both cinema and opera goers with its powerful visual and stereo effects.
In addition to celebrating the first anniversary of Galaxy Macau, the charity screening also has a special purpose to raise fund for people in need. Invited guests are welcome to render support by purchasing the 3D movie glasses at a special price or filling the donation boxes placed at the theatre, as all proceeds will go to ORBIS Macau. Gratified by Galaxy Macau’s effort in organizing this charity event, Ms. Vivian Lo, Director of Development of ORBIS Macau, said, “GEG has been supporting our sight-saving work through organizing a variety of activities, offering hope to people with eye diseases. The charity screening to be held on Saturday will also help to raise awareness on the importance of healthy eye-sight.”
