August 16, 2012 – Committed to training up talents for society, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) has been working with the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (“CPTTM”) to provide an array of exclusive trainings for its team members since 2008. To further its cooperation with CPTTM, GEG became the first gaming operator to enter into cooperation agreement with the organization to offer its team members exclusive training courses of more than 350 hours on computer applications within a year.
The “Training Cooperation between GEG and CPTTM- Signing Ceremony” was held at the CPTTM Head Office on Thursday. Witnessed by Dr. Eric Yeung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CPTTM, and Ms. Eileen Lui, Director of Human Resources & Administration of GEG, the agreement was signed by representatives of the two parties including Dr. Shuen Ka Hung, Director-General of CPTTM, Ms. Teresa Mok, Deputy Director-General of CPTTM, Mr. Trevor Martin, Senior Vice President of Human Resources & Administration of GEG, and Mr. Paul Temple, Vice President of Training & Development of GEG.
Dr. Shuen Ka Hung hoped that the long-term cooperation with GEG could help CPTTM tailor-make a vocational training program for GEG’s team members at different positions. “The team members can upgrade themselves through continuous learning and enhance the overall productivity of the company; and at the same time, by offering learning opportunities for its team members, the company can improve their chances of upward mobility. This can create a win-win situation for both the team members and the company,” he added. He was also very appreciative of GEG’s effort in encouraging its team members to pursue continuing education and setting a good example for the industry.
Believing that GEG and CPTTM were sharing a common goal to enhance the overall competence of local workforce, Mr. Trevor Martin who represented GEG in the signing ceremony said, “We view this training agreement as a first step and we look forward to a broader spectrum of training cooperation with CPTTM in the future. With the high quality and professional training offered by CPTTM, together with the certificate of completion jointly issued by CPTTM and GEG, we are confident that it will be a strong enticement for our team members to pursue continuing education and professional qualifications.” He hoped that the cooperation would enhance the core competence of the GEG team members and help raise the quality of human resources to cope with Macau's rapid economic development.
Starting from January this year, the one-year program will offer at least 350 hours of exclusive trainings on computer applications ranging from Microsoft Office applications to Adobe design applications. Through the program GEG has created a professional training platform for its team members to enhance their professional knowledge and skills, so that they can be prepared for the career development opportunities lying ahead.
