January 22, 2014 - As Lunar New Year is fast approaching, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) specially hosted a New Year Luncheon at Galaxy Macau™ on Wednesday to celebrate the holiday season with 80 elderly members of the General Union of Neighbors' Association of Macao. The lunch party was also joined by the GEG volunteers who delivered festive jubilation to the elderly guests through the New Year gift bags and several fun-filled activities.
Joining the luncheon were also the Director of General Union of Neighbors' Association of Macao Ms. Ng Siu Lai, Vice-Secretary General Ms. Cheang Man Man, together with other staff members of the association. Ns. Ng thanked GEG for organizing this special event and said, “GEG has not only offered our elderly members an opportunity to enjoy a great meal, but it also brings them some festive joy and makes them feel special in this blissful season of the year.”
From the smiles on their faces it was clear that the elderly people have thoroughly enjoyed the auspicious festive delicacies specially designed by the GEG volunteers. With gratitude towards the invitation from GEG, 85-year-old Ms. Chan Mei said, “The lunch party is great and I really like the food they prepared for us. The party also gives us an opportunity to get together to celebrate the beginning of a new year, and extend warm wishes to one another.”
The luncheon was highlighted with the elaborate performances of traditional Chinese musical instruments and beat-boxing technique by the team members who had participated in GEG’s annual talent show contest, “Galaxy Got Talent”, with all participants happily clapping hands along with the music rhythm. More entertainments followed as the elderly guests were invited to play games with GEG’s senior executives. Red packets and festive gifts were distributed by the GEG volunteers, one of who even dressed up like the God of Fortune. The volunteers were all very delighted to have brought so much happiness to the elderly people and they hope that they can participate in more of this kind of events to spread warmth and care around the community.
