June 2, 2021 – To help team members to stay active and maintain a healthy work-life balance, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) has been holding different types of team member activities and supporting their participation in different sports events organized by the Macau SAR Government. For the 16th consecutive year, GEG will participate in the 2021 Macau International Dragon Boat Races and earlier, GEG held a blessing ceremony for the 4 dragon boat teams consisting of GEG team members from various properties.

Held at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre, the blessing ceremony was attended by Ms. Eileen Lui, Group Director of Human Resources and Administration of GEG; Mr. Richard Longhurst, Director of Operations of Galaxy Macau™ and Director of Gaming Development and Optimization Services; Mr. Andy Lee, Deputy Director of Operations of StarWorld Hotel; and Ms. Trancy Koh, Chairperson of the GEG Staff Social Club and other executives who bestowed good luck on the GEG dragon boats: Galaxy Pearl, Galaxy Glamour, Galaxy Phoenix and Galaxy Elegance. The executives officiated the eye dotting rituals, shared the roasted pig with the dragon boat team members, and distributed red packets to the teams as a gesture of support and best wishes for a good race.

To ensure the health and safety of its team members, GEG fully cooperated with the relevant authorities’ pandemic prevention guidelines and implemented a number of pandemic prevention measures during the training, including providing team members with face masks and temperature checks. Mr. Tyson Hoi, the Coach and Captain of the GEG Dragon Boat Team, said, “The International Dragon Boat Race is a highly anticipated annual event for our dragon boat athletes. The company values the team and provides us with encouragement and all kinds of support. As the race approaches, our teams have intensified its training and will continue do our best to achieve good results and demonstrate the GEG Dragon Boat Team’s team spirit.”

GEG cares for the wellbeing of its team members and supports them on their development through offering many diversified learning and networking activities. Over the years, GEG has proactively supported Macau on its sports development by sponsoring various large-scale sports events, including the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League – Macau and the Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon of which GEG has been a sponsor for many years; the launch of the World Table Tennis Macau 2020 last year; and various other sports activities such as the organization of different basketball games, soccer games and interdepartmental bowling challenges through the GEG Staff Social Club and the respective GEG sports teams. In the future, GEG will continue to enrich the lives of its team members and promote a culture for work-life balance.
