June 6, 2023 Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) proactively supports the Macau SAR Government’s sports development policies and various types of international sporting events in Macau through different initiatives, and encourages its team members to engage in sports and to practice healthy lifestyle habits by exercising regularly. This year, in support of the Macau International Dragon Boat Races for the 18th consecutive year, GEG will send six dragon boat teams formed by GEG team members from different properties to compete. A blessing ceremony was held today at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre, to wish the GEG dragon boat teams to play their full strength and to achieve outstanding results in the races.

The blessing ceremony was attended by Ms. Eileen Lui, Group Director of Human Resources and Administration of GEG; Mr. Ted Chan, Chief Financial Officer of GEG; Mr. Andy Lee, Deputy Director of Operations of StarWorld Hotel; Mr. James Koratzopoulos, Executive Vice President of Hotels and MICE Operations; Mr. Jason Barry, Senior Vice President of Table Games of Galaxy Macau™; Ms. Trancy Koh, Chairperson of the GEG Staff Social Club, and other executives. During the ceremony, GEG executives bestowed good luck on the GEG dragon boats: Galaxy Stars, Galaxy Pearl, Galaxy Universe, Galaxy Glamour, Galaxy Phoenix and Galaxy Elegance by performing the eye-dotting rituals, cutting the roasted pigs, and distributing red packets to the team members in a joyful and harmonious atmosphere as a gesture of cheer and support.

To help team members enrich their after-work lives through sports, GEG has been allocating resources to provide trainings and support to its various sports teams. This year, GEG designed a new team uniform for its Dragon Boat Team and invited a veteran coach to lead GEG team members in systematic training and to provide professional guidance, in hopes of advancing their skills and confidence, as well as encouraging them to go from strength to strength and achieve self-enhancement. Mr. Tyson Hoi, Captain of the GEG Dragon Boat Team, said, “We are very grateful for the company’s tremendous support to the Team. Turning our hard work into strength and motivation, we will definitely aim for the best through dedicated trainings and a fighting team spirit.”

Throughout the years, GEG has been promoting Macau’s sports development through multi-pronged approaches, including title-sponsoring the Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon for 19 consecutive years, sponsoring the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League Macao and FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix for 14 years, and becoming one of the organizers of this year’s WTT Macao event after having presented it for three consecutive times. Meanwhile, GEG also proactively encourages team members to participate in different sports competitions and recreational activities, including basketball tournaments, interdepartmental soccer matches, bowling fun days, etc., with an aim of helping team members maintain mental and physical wellbeing and a healthy work-life balance.
