Wednesday, March 02, 2010 – “Kai Kai” and “Xin Xin”, the pair of giant pandas that the Central People’s Government conferred on Macau in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Special Administrative Region officially arrived in Macau late last year. Settled in at Seac Pai Van Park, the giant pandas’ new home, the Macau Giant Panda Pavilion is now the city’s newest visitor attraction. Hoping to give members an early opportunity to see the community’s widely embraced national treasures, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”)’s Staff Social Club has arranged special family excursions that will take over one thousand GEG members and their families to the pavilion to see the giant pandas and learn more about the importance of wildlife conservation.
GEG’s announcement of the company’s arrangements to visit the giant panda pavilion attracted an overwhelming response from enthusiastic members in all departments. Recently GEG divided 450 of its executives, team members and their families into three groups and, at different times throughout the day, escorted them in GEG’s pre-arranged shuttle buses, to the Macau Giant Panda Pavilion for their visit. Entering the pavilion, the participants took time to appreciate their surroundings with their many landscaped features that imitate the giant pandas’ natural habitat. Wasting no time at all, the participants then entered the giant panda observatory where they took numerous snapshots of “Kai Kai” and “Xin Xin”, enjoying their special panda expressions and movements, and, as a recollection of this special moment, photos of themselves and their families. After taking a close look at both “Kai Kai” and “Xin Xin”, members and their families also visited the pavilion’s Giant Panda Library where they were able to access a range of material that helped them understand the giant pandas’ natural habits, living environment, life cycle and more importantly, the rationale behind ecological conservation and environmental protection.
Due to members’ enthusiastic response, GEG’s Staff Social Club will take more members and their family participants for further trips to see “Kai Kai” and “Xin Xin” at the Macau Giant Panda Pavilion this Sunday. This additional excursion, together with the earlier trips, means that GEG will have brought over 1,000 members and their families to the city’s recently opened visitor hot spot for a personal, close-up look at “Kai Kai” and “Xin Xin”. GEG has always considered its members as the company’s most valuable assets. In addition to showing its concern for members’ individual performance, GEG also places great emphasis and attention on members’ work-life balance. The company thus empowers GEG’s Staff Social Club to organize different activities that can enrich the lives, hobbies and horizons of its members. Through activities like this, GEG hopes to give members more opportunities to network, so that, besides team building, members can share and enjoy their experiences with family and friends, take a break from city life, get close to nature and spend the weekend with their family.
