May 7, 2012 – As Mother’s Day is around the corner, 20 members from the volunteer team of Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) visited Asilo Vila Madalena on Sunday to share with the elderly a fun-filled afternoon of games and activities. Warm blessings of the festival were sent to the female residents through the lovely flower bouquets specially prepared by over 20 GEG team members before the visit.
Smiles beamed on the faces of the elderly as the volunteers arrived at the nursing home with the flower bouquets. Gratified to have received the special gift, along with the good wishes and greetings from the volunteers, Lo Chi Leng said, “I am very happy with the beautiful flowers these young people prepared for us. And I really appreciate the time and effort they put into making such a wonderful Mother’s Day gift.”
To spread festive cheer around, GEG organized a flower arranging workshop for its team members last Saturday, so that they could learn to create flower bouquets both for their loved ones and the elderly at the nursing home. The activity was joined by more than 20 team members, who prepared more than a hundred bunches of flowers for the senior residents.
The visit was filled with great rejoicing as the GEG volunteers and the elderly had great fun singing songs and playing games together. Delighted to have provided a joyous and meaningful afternoon for the senior residents, Donald Lai from the table games department of Galaxy Macau™ said, “I really enjoy doing voluntary work and the visit makes me realize how much the elderly people need our care; I will definitely spend more time with the seniors in my family from now on.”
