Dr. Lui Che Woo Received “Lifetime Achievement Award” at China Hotel Golden Horse Award Galaxy Entertainment Group Won 4 Top Hotel Honors

Macau, Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, (March 25, 2013) – Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) won 3 top awards at the 13th China Hotel Golden Horse Award Ceremony in Guangzhou on Sunday. StarWorld Hotel was named the “Best Service Hotel of Asia” and Galaxy Macau™ was recognized as the “Most Charming Resort in Asia”. The Group’s Chairman, Dr. Lui Che-Woo was honored with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” in recognition of his enormous contribution to the industry. The 2 flagship properties also struck success at the 8th China Starlight Awards for their excellence performances.
Delighted to receive the most prestigious recognition at the Golden Horse Award, Dr. Lui Che Woo said, “The future of China’s hospitality industry will be centered on hotel chains. Dr. Lui Che Woo, the Chairman of GEG and K.Wah, has an extensive background in developing hotel, resort and entertainment projects. Dr. Lui Che Woo established the first K. Wah company in Hong Kong in the 1950s, and under his leadership, the company has developed into a multi-national conglomerate involving properties, hospitality, and construction materials. Dr. Lui Che Woo established GEG in 2002, which is now the employer of more than 16,000 people.
Dr. Lui Chi Woo serves a number of important positions such as the Founding Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Hotel Owners, the Founding President of Hong Kong - Guangdong Economic Development Association and the Honorary President of Hong Kong - Shanghai Economic Development Association. In 2012, he was awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal by the Government of the HKSAR for his significant contribution to regional development.
