Galaxy Entertainment Group Hosts “My Favorite Galaxy Star Player” Award during FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix™ Macau 2013
July 11, 2013 - Authorized by FIVB and organized by Macau Sport Development Board and Volleyball Association of Macao, China, the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix™ Macau 2013 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) will take place between 2 and 4 August at the Macau Forum. To enhance the excitement of the tournament, GEG continues to organize “My Favorite Galaxy Star Player” award to offer spectators the opportunities to vote for their favorite players. Not only will the player with highest votes be greatly rewarded, but the voters will also enter into a lucky draw automatically to win fabulous prizes.
GEG has always been actively involved in Macau sports development as part of its effort in promoting cultural diversities of the city. This year is not just the ninth consecutive year for GEG to sponsor the Volleyball World Grand Prix™ Macau, but it is also the fifth time for GEG to host “My Favorite Galaxy Star Player” award. Mr. Philip Cheng, Director of GEG said, “In the past 4 years, the ‘Galaxy Star Player’ awards were all captured by the athletes from the China Team, including Wang Yimei in the first year and Xue Ming in the second year, followed by Hui Ruoqi as the first player to strike consecutive wins in the last 2 years. With the FIVB tournament less than one month away, we look forward to another strong player to win the hearts of the audience and take home the award in August.”
This year, four powerful teams, namely the China Team, Cuba Team, Bulgaria Team and the Netherlands Team, will assemble in the city to compete for the championship. Eight candidate players from the four teams have been selected by the professional sports journalists from Macau Sports Press Association and Hong Kong Sports Press Association for the voting. They are Hui Ruoqi and Zeng Chunlei from the China Team, Daymara Lescay Cajigal and Rosanna Giel Ramos from the Cuba Team, Maret Grothues and Manon Flier from the Netherlands Team, as well as Lora Kitipova and Elitsa Vasileva from the Bulgaria Team. With tremendous support from the volleyball fans in Hong Kong and Macau, the new captain of China Team Hui Ruoqi sees a great chance to be the three-time winner this year and become the ultimate “Galaxy Star”.
During the tournament, ballot boxes will be placed at the entrance of Macau Forum for spectators to cast their votes. The player with the highest number of votes will not only take home “My Favorite Galaxy Star Player” award, but she will also entitle to fabulous prizes sponsored by GEG with a total value of up to MOP20,000, including a two-night stay at Sky Villa of Banyan Tree Macau with Royal Banyan spa and dining experience. In addition, a lucky participant who voted for the winning player will be drawn out to receive great prizes including a one-night stay at Galaxy Hotel™ and food & beverage coupons valued at MOP1,500.
