“GEG Youth Achievement Program” Presented Completion Certificates to Participants and Announced Six Winners of Cambodia Study Tour

July 10, 2013 - Co-organized by Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) and Macau Management Association (“MMA”), the “GEG Youth Achievement Program” has been offering local young people a wide range of community activities and selfdevelopment workshops since 2011. This Wednesday, the organizers hosted the closing ceremony of “GEG Youth Achievement Program 2012-2013” at StarWorld Hotel to present completion certificates to the participants, as well as to present special awards to those with outstanding performance and announce the winners of Cambodia Study Tour.
The ceremony was attended by the guests of honor including Ms. Teng Nga Kan, Acting Director of Labor Affairs Bureau, Mr. Kong Chi Meng, Acting Chief of Department of Youth, Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, Mr. Chui Sai Cheong, President of MMA, and Mr. Tommy Lau, Council Chairman of MMA. They were also joined by Mr. Francis Lui, Vice Chairman of GEG and Mr. Philip Cheng, Director of GEG, in witnessing this special moment for these young people.
During his speech Mr. Philip Cheng said, “Not only have the young members gained valuable knowledge and experience from the workshops, but they have also developed great friendships and rapport with their teammates. These are the biggest rewards that can never be attained in a classroom.” Mr. Tommy Lau also said, “The program signifies a big step we have made to train local youth to reach international standards. We look forward to working more closely with GEG to nurture more management talent for society.”
Through the workshops and community activities offered by the Youth Achievement Program, Ho Sou I has not only gained better understanding of her strengths and advantages, but she has also developed a clear career goal to achieve in the future. “I am very pleased to have met so many resilient and resourceful young people who are determined to make the most of their lives. They make me feel more hopeful and confident than ever before about the future of Macau.” She also thanked the organizers for offering young people the opportunities to reach their full potential.
The participants broke into cheers and applause as the team “Dream Performer”, formed by Chan Chi Fai, Wong Ka Wai, Zhang Wen Quan, Ho Sou I, Sam Ka Seng and Ngan Chek Hou, was announced the winner of the Cambodia Study Tour. Moreover, the participants with outstanding performance were acknowledged with special awards including the “Most Creative Award”, “Award of Merits” and “Outstanding Leadership Award”, together with the prizes sponsored by Galaxy Macau™ such as buffet vouchers and hotel accommodations.
Targeting local young people between 18 and 25, the “GEG Youth Achievement Program” aims to help the participants discover personal strengths through a range of team building activities and practical trainings such as community and volunteer work. The second term of the Youth Achievement Program was joined by 400 young people and around 70 participants who have completed at least three workshops were then eligible to compete in the final contecontest. The winning team was awarded the opportunity to join the Cambodia Study Tour.
