April 9, 2014 - Galaxy Macau™, the Asian-centric integrated resort of Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”), once again proves to be the perfect place to create memories for people of all ages. With the thoughtful arrangement of GEG, the elderly residents of Asilo de Felicidade and Lar de Idosos Ian Oi Limitada enjoyed a fun-filled tour around Galaxy Macau on Tuesday to explore the various resort amenities, and learn some useful massage techniques from the experts at “Foot Hub”.
The visiting activity began with a group of over 30 participants, including the elderly residents, their family members and the staff of the nursing homes, arriving at Galaxy Macau on Tuesday morning. To make this a truly meaningful activity, GEG specially invited the participants to the reflexology center “Foot Hub”, where they could learn from the experts some basic massage techniques that help them relax and rejuvenate.
The participants were all very delighted by the special learning opportunity that provided them some health knowledge to share with friends and family members. “Elderly people like us are less flexible and get tired more easily. Thanks to the arrangement of GEG, we have learnt some good ways to relax our body and mind,” said Ho Dao, an 85-yearold resident at Lar de Idosos Ian Oi Limitada.
Accompanied by the GEG volunteers, the elderly residents also enjoyed a leisurely walk along the 350-ton white sand beach that frames the 4000sqm Skytop Wave Pool on the Grand Resort Deck. The GEG volunteers then took the participants on a tour and gave them an orientation to the facilities at Galaxy Macau, including the elegant shopping outlets and chic restaurants at the East and West Promenades, as well as the UA Galaxy Cinemas which has enjoyed wide popularity since its opening. The participants were very impressed by the wide range of leisure and entertainment amenities the resort has to offer and said that they would invite their friends to visit along next time.
Ms. Leung Suk Ling, the representative of the two care homes, expressed her gratitude to GEG and said, “Most of the recreational activities for the elderly residents are normally within the care home environment and they pretty much hope to get around the community to learn more about the changes in the city. It is indeed a very unique and memorable experience for them to visit the resort today.” Each elderly resident was given a gift bag containing food items such as oatmeal and macaroni towards the end of the visit.
