“Galaxy Got Talent 2014” Showcased Team Members’ Talents While Expressing Care for the Community

September 18, 2014 - Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) held the Grand Final of its annual talent show contest, “Galaxy Got Talent 2014”, at East Square of Galaxy Macau™ on Thursday night. Attracting more than 800 team members to cheer for their colleagues, the event presented ten finalists who delivered the most fantastic acts and performances and competed for seven special awards. Agustin Laut from Security of StarWorld won “The Sound of GEG Award” with his lingering voice; “G-Force” from Housekeeping & Environmental Services of Galaxy Macau stood out with their elaborate dancing skills to take home “The Move of GEG Award”; and “Rextro Girls” took home “The Best Showmanship Award”. The event also raised MOP150,000 for Fuhong Society of Macau through ticket sales with the aim of expressing care and love to the community.
Having held “Galaxy Got Talent” for six consecutive years, GEG invited Mr. Li Zhong Kai, Assistant Director - General Economic Affairs Department, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Mr. Zhang Hong Xi, Head of Department of Research and Planning of Social Welfare Bureau, Ms. Mang Sui Yee, Head of Employment Promotion Division of Labor Affairs Bureau, Ms. Maria de Fatima Salvador dos Santos Ferreira, President of General Assembly, Fu Hong Society of Macau, Mr. Michael Mecca, President & Chief Operating Officer of GEG and Ms. Eileen Lui Wai Ling, Group Director - Human Resources & Administration of GEG as officiating guests for the Grand Final this year. As in previous years, the event continued to promote the message of social integration by arranging a band formed by three members of Fuhong Society to present the kickoff performance.
Furthermore, GEG donated the ticket sales proceeds to Fu Hong Society. Since team members may enjoy an exciting competition and donate to charity at the same time, the Grand Final received an overwhelming response. Mr. Michael Mecca, President and Chief Operating Officer, presented the donation cheque to Ms. Maria de Fatima Salvador dos Santos Ferreira, President of General Assembly, Fuhong Society of Macau. Expressing her gratitude to GEG’s care of Fuhong Society of Macau, Ms. Maria said, “I would like to thank GEG for the generous donation which fully demonstrated its adhesion to the philosophy “from the community, for the community” as well as fulfilling its commitment to corporate social responsibility.”
The Grand Final of “Galaxy Got Talent” was an intense competition among 10 finalists with a mix of talents, such as singing, dancing and acrobatics. The competition gave out seven special awards including the “The Sound of GEG Award”, “The Move of GEG Award”, “The Best Creativity Award”, “The Best Image Award”, “The Best Showmanship Award”, “The Audience Choice Award”, and “Facebook’s Most ‘Like’ Award”. Every contester was given a big round of applause as they approached to the stage and thanked the great support from their colleagues and said that the stage fright disappeared when they heard the audience’s big round of applause.
The judging panel was formed by Mr. Danny Summer, Hong Kong famous singer along with Ms. Florence Cheong, Producing Artistic Director of Dance Union Macau, Mr. John Ku, Executive Director of NewRound Culture Transmission Macau Co. Ltd, Ms. Jessica Chan, Dance Choreographer of Entertainment of StarWorld, Ms. Jennifer Chau, Director of Fuhong Society of Macau and Ms. Trancy Koh, Director of Galaxy Got Talent 2014.
