December 17, 2015 – Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) organizes many different charity and volunteering activities to advocate its compassion and respect for the elderlies. In celebration of the upcoming Christmas, GEG recently mobilized a team of thirty GEG volunteers for a caring visit to the homes of elderly users of Peng On Tung Tele-assistance Services, during which the GEG volunteers expressed warmth and presented gift packs to them.
Last Saturday morning, GEG volunteers received a warm welcome by staffs at the Peng On Tung Tele-assistance Service Center and after a brief introduction of the Peng On Tung center and its daily operations, GEG volunteers paired up for their visits to thirty elderly homes; with each pair bringing along gift packs containing GEG volunteers’ hand-made knitted scarves, towels, rice, cooking oil and insulated bottles and pieces of recycled soap donated by Clean the World Asia. With the recent temperature changes, the volunteers reminded the elderlies to keep warm, inspected their Peng On Tung devices to ensure that it operates properly, surveyed their living conditions and presented them with Christmas gift packs.
The visits were carried out gracefully with GEG volunteers and the elderlies sharing their experiences, stories and laughter. Sharon Kuong from Recruitment of Human Resources and Administration department said “I enjoyed the visit very much. It touches my heart to see the elderlies smile. They are so grateful for the services we render, and are so eager to engage in conversation.” The volunteers believe that the visits bring meaning and hope that they can participate in more similar activities in the future to support the elderly and underprivileged communities.
