April 18, 2016 – Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) cares about its team member’s wellbeing. To promote a healthy work-life balance, relieve stress, and improve performance, GEG offers employee assistance services in collaboration with Overseas Laborer Service of Caritas Macau, Sheng Kung Hui Gambling Counseling and Family Wellness Center (“S.K.H.”) and Associação de Juventude Voluntária de Macau (“AJVM”).
Overseas Laborer Service of Caritas Macau recently distributed leaflets describing their employee assistance services to back-of-house team members at Galaxy Macau™ for the first time. The staff distributed and explained the professional counselling services available to team members confronting challenges in their daily lives.
For years, GEG partnered with S.K.H. and AJVM to create a harmonious workplace and promote responsible gaming among team members. In 2014, S.K.H. launched the Employee Assistance Program and Responsible Gaming Promotion Program to provide GEG team members various services, including a support hotline, face-to-face counselling, on-site counselling and WeChat online counselling. Additionally, GEG, S.K.H. and AJVM organize the annual “Responsible Gaming Awareness Week” for team members. The event features quiz games and workshops to encourage team members develop an optimistic attitude through responsible gaming and healthy lifestyles.
In 2015, over 4,100 GEG team members participated in the Program. This was a 40% increase over the 2014 participation of 2,900 team members. Team members participating in the program are aware of employee assistance services available to them and are educated about the potential risks of gaming. Furthermore, responsible gaming pamphlets and self-help kiosks inform team members about the support services are available to them under GEG’s properties.
GEG considers team members’ physical and mental wellness as one of the top priorities. Therefore, GEG will take initiatives to offer full support to team members who experience problems and afflictions. Joining with local associations and institutions, GEG consistently provides counselling and employee assistance services to enable team members to live a meaningful life.
