September 13, 2017 – Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) and the Macau Management Association (“MMA”) co-organized the GEG Youth Achievement Program (“YAP”) for the sixth year to nurture diversified talent in Macau. This year’s program focused on career development. Winners of the Final Competition were awarded a seven-day Asian City Study Tour in Seoul, South Korea, sponsored by GEG.

Seven YAP members, including the winners of the Final Competition and the Outstanding Performance & Loyalty Award, visited various sites related to career development in South Korea. The highlights of the study tour were the visit to Asia’s first Google Campus and the Seoul Global Startup Center, during which the members talked with the experts and entrepreneurs there and exchanged their ideas and experiences. The YAP members also visited the Samsung Innovation Museum, where they learnt about Samsung Group’s development history and its forward-looking vision on technology development. They were also the first group to experience its recently released smartphone model.

GEG hopes that the YAP members gain a greater understanding of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship through the tour. South Korea is one of the fastest growing economies in Asia, maintaining a prominent position on the leading edge of creativity and industrial innovation, which is why GEG chose the country for the tour. Wong Im Mei, winner of the Outstanding Performance & Loyalty Award, said, “This tour has indeed broadened my horizon! The exclusive tour showed us famous corporations and organizations like Google Campus, the Seoul Global Startup Center and the Korea Exchange. All these valuable learning opportunities have really helped me a lot on career planning. Joining the GEG YAP is really a smart choice!”

The three topics of this year’s YAP Final Competition were youth entrepreneurship, Macau’s cultural and innovative industry and China’s policies influencing Macau. The winning team, called Sei Gor’s 3,000 Delicacies, chose youth entrepreneurship as their topic and designed a game business for Broadway Macau^TM which combines culinary offerings with virtual reality and augmented reality to provide an unprecedented entertainment experience to the customer.

GEG sees young people as an important pillar of Macau’s future development. Since 2011, GEG has organized the GEG YAP to provide training for over 2,200 young people aged 18 to 29. Through various workshops, camps, courses, activities and competitions, the program broadens the horizon of the members, nurturing their leadership, self-improvement and awareness of community with the goal of laying a solid foundation for their future development.
