September 24, 2018 – Upholding the philosophy of “what is taken from the community is to be used for the good of the community”, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) initiated the mooncake donation activity and organized volunteers to make lanterns with members of the Association of Parents of the People with Intellectual Disabilities of Macau (AFEDMM) in the hope of sharing the festive joy and spreading love and care throughout Macau. Also, maintaining the tradition of gifting mooncakes to team members during Mid-Autumn Festival, GEG gave away 20,000 boxes of Asian Heart mooncakes. GEG would like to wish team members and their families a happy Mid-Autumn Festival.
As a responsible corporate citizen, GEG has participated in a diverse range of community services. Recently, GEG and team members organized the mooncake donation activity, encouraging team members to share the festive joy with the underprivileged by donating mooncakes, where GEG acts as the mediator – collecting the mooncakes from team members and delivering them to the elderly residents of Caritas’s Longevity Special Day Care Center, members of Fuhong Society of Macau and members of AFEDMM. GEG volunteers recently visited AFEDMM and presented the members there with the mooncakes. The volunteers and members also created festive lanterns together, as a Mid-Autumn Festival tradition. The volunteers delivered their best wishes to the members after sharing a joyful morning together. Furthermore, echoing the Macau SAR Government’s environmentally friendly outreach, GEG once again participated in the Recycling Lunar Cake Boxes is Very Easy activity. Recycling bins were places in multiple locations in the back-of-house areas to make it more convenient for team members to recycle mooncake packaging.
Mr. Buddy Lam, Senior Vice President of Public Relations of GEG, said, “Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the traditional Chinese festivals. GEG, as a Chinese-owned enterprise, values Chinese traditions. Mid-Autumn Festival is a time to express blessings. Therefore, GEG would like to deliver the best festive wishes to the Macau community by giving out mooncakes and making lanterns with the members of AFEDMM. Moving forward, GEG will expand its range of community services to continue spreading love and care across Macau.”
GEG always values its team members as the most valuable asset and proactively organizes a wide range of activities for them. Recently, a group of GEG executives presented the Asian Heart mooncakes to the team members and wished them and their families a happy Mid-Autumn Festival. GEG organized multiple activities for the team members, such as the prized Lantern Design Competition and the Asian Heart online game. In addition, GEG prepared festival dishes for the team members on the day of Mid-Autumn Festival, hoping that they feel festive cheer.
