Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) encourages its team members to take part in domestic, regional and overseas competitions that allow them to develop their professional skills on a broad platform. Last year, team members from the Food and Beverage Department of Galaxy Macau™ took home a long list of industry awards, a testament to GEG’s success in talent cultivation. In recognition of these team members’ outstanding performance, Galaxy Macau hosted an appreciation dinner for 50 F&B team members in JW Marriot’s function room. Family members of the award winners were invited to the celebration, which was also attended by several GEG executives.
The congenial evening of gourmet food and wine was enhanced by team members’ sharing of stories of their competition experiences. The medals, certificates and photos of the awardees at the competitions were displayed at the banquet, allowing team members to share with their families and the executives what they had encountered at the competitions. The executives encouraged the team members to see the competitions as an opportunity to expand their professional networks and take their culinary skills to the next level by continuing to compete with chefs and sommeliers from around the world.
A team member representative offered a speech in which he expressed the team’s appreciation for GEG’s continuous efforts in making possible their participation in competitions with their internationally-renowned F&B counterparts. He noted that the invaluable insights gained in competitions are instrumental in shifting their careers up a gear. Moreover, he said that the GEG F&B team will continue to strive to propel the development of the city’s food and beverage industry, as well as to introduce more distinctive dishes to delight guests’ palates.
Home to a host of professionals in the F&B industry, GEG’s various culinary outlets are dedicated to contributing their parts to Macau’s positioning as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. Looking ahead, GEG will continue to endow team members with opportunities to participate in competitions and advance their skills.
