GEG and The Women’s General Association of Macau Promote Respectful and Family-Friendly Workplace

December 17, 2019 – Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) values team members’ well-being and strives to build a friendly and harmonious working environment. The company also cares about team members’ family lives and encourages a healthy work-life balance. Recently, GEG and The Women's General Association of Macau (the Association) held a workshop for nearly 200 team members at Banyan Tree Macau. The workshop aimed to provide information on creating a respectful workplace and preventing discrimination and harassment, focusing on psychological and legal perspectives. In addition, the Association provided information in the Heart-of-House area of Galaxy Macau™ about preventing domestic violence.

Mr. Lao Chan Fong, Psychology Director at the Psychotherapy Center of The Women’s General Association of Macau introduced some basic ideas on maintaining a respectful workplace. He then provided tips on preventing discrimination and harassment and also discussed appropriate measures for dealing with issues that may arise. Ms. Bernardete Fan, Senior Associate of Manuela António Lawyers and Notaries, followed with an introduction to relevant laws in the Macau Special Administrative Region. Team members expressed that the workshop would help them better understand the current situation of gender equity in the workplace and obtain practical suggestions on relevant issues.

In addition, GEG also cares about team members’ family lives and invited the Association to advocate for the prevention of domestic violence by setting up display boards in the Heart-of-House area. The activity aimed to raise team members’ awareness of domestic violence and mental health issues and maintaining a family-friendly workplace. Ms. Christine Luo, Vice President of The Women’s General Association of Macau thanked GEG for its continued and comprehensive support for The Women's General Association of Macau and said, “We are pleased to see GEG’s commitment in building an equal and respectful workplace and their care for team members with family-friendly policies.
