February 10, 2021 – Believing that “education engenders a strong country,” Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) promotes national education in Macau through organizing various activities to help young people gain insight into the conditions and latest developments of Mainland China and Macau. Following the visit of GEG team members to the “Base of the Education of Love for the Motherland and for Macau for Young People”, GEG arranged members from the GEG Youth Achievement Program (“YAP”) that it co-organizes with the Macau Management Association (“MMA”) and students from the Lui Che Woo College of the University of Macau (“LCWC”) for separate tours to the exhibition in hopes of supporting the Macau SAR Government’s national education strategy aimed at helping young people gain a deeper understanding of China’s history and culture, China and Macau’s development, and establish a strong sense of national identity.

The visits were a part of GEG’s initiatives to strengthen young people’s understanding of national and regional conditions. As the largest youth program co-launched by GEG and MMA, YAP added a number of new activities and courses related to national conditions and cultural education in its 10th edition, including the “YAP Social Networking Activity – Table Manner” workshop which shared the differences between Chinese and Western table manners, traditional and modern Chinese dining etiquette, and other characteristics to help YAP members learn the history and changes of Chinese etiquette and culture, as well as to cultivate their good behavior. In addition, YAP members also attended an “Effective Presentation Skills at Workplace” workshop, during which an experienced instructor used the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (“GBA”) to show the YAP members certain presentation skills whilst enhancing their insight into the GBA development and helping them develop their soft skills.

As well, GEG also invited students from the LCWC students to visit the “Base of the Education of Love for the Motherland and for Macau for Young People”. Professor Yip Ming Chuen, College Master of LCWC said, “It was a flawless visit. It let our students learn about China’s 5,000-year history, its cultural development, and also the progress that Macau has made since its return to China so that they can better understand and appreciate national conditions. The visit provided our students with a very clear concept of national condition, which is helpful to their future development. We thank GEG for its continuous support of our college and for providing our students with a variety of learning and exchange opportunities that are important for their self-development and can broaden their horizons.” He also said that young people should have a good understanding of national conditions so that they can contribute to the prosperity and development of their motherland in the near future. Earlier, GEG held a special screening of the Chinese historical war drama film “The Eight Hundred” at the UA Galaxy Cinemas in Galaxy Macau™, during which students from LCWC were also invited to join.

GEG has always supported national conditions education through different initiatives aimed at encouraging the younger generation to learn about China’s history and achievements, including by title sponsoring the GEG Macau Cup – Youth National Education Competition and its educational trips for winning students for 12 consecutive years. The annual competition has attracted over 90,000 participants since its debut. GEG also title sponsored the “GEG Presents: Popular Science Activities in Schools on Chinese Drones” and the “RoboMaster 2020 Macau Youth Robotics Competition”. Through combining educational activities of popular science and national conditions, the activities showcased the latest innovation and technology in China. GEG will continue to support and organize more related activities to help strengthen the national identity of young people.
